Terms of Service & Privacy Policy
By inviting marCloudBackup bot to your Discord server or logging into our website (https://marcloud.net/backupbot) you agree that you have read, understood, and accepted these terms.
You are also responsible for informing members of your Discord server about these terms.
If you do not agree with any of these terms, you cannot invite or use marCloudBackup bot or any of its services.
Terms of Service
You are strictly prohibited to use marCloudBackup for use that is against the Discords Terms of Service or for other disallowed purposes listed below.
We are doing our best to prevent these activities (e.g. by implementing an automated content scanning system), while trying to provide the best user experience and privacy as possible.
If you find people or communities using marCloudBackup Bot against Discord ToS or even for illegal activities, please contact us immediately, and report it to Discord support themselves (https://dis.gd/report).
Disallowed use includes but is not limited to backing up or restoring:- images or videos of C.P.
- images or videos of bestiality or zoofilia
- sexually explicit or sexually suggestive content of other people without the subjects knowledge and consent
- images/videos of gore or any content that is violent or disturbing
- malicious software with the intent of causing harm to someone
- content that glorifies, promotes, or normalizes suicide or other acts of self-harm
- content obtained without the rights to it, e.g. leaked copyrighted content

Note: marCloudBackup Bot complies with all of Discord's ToS and Community Guidelines, as written by Discord. Any update to any of their policies may result in the update of our ToS.
As outlined in Discord's Community Guidelines, you must also agree to keep all NSFW content within channels strictly labeled with the Age restricted label found in Channel Settings.
Privacy
By using the Server Backup feature (accessible through the mb!create command), you express the permission for our bot to access all possible channels and messages of your server for the purpose of backing up your server data.
Backup contents are used and accessed only by marCloudBackup application itself. Our staff team will access and look at that data only when such backup gets flagged by our content scanning system and gets appealed for (i.e. a user asks for manual approval of the backup).
Backup content scanner is fully automated, runs on marCloudBackup servers and does not involve sharing any of your data with 3rd parties.
We will never share your data with any 3rd party, and we will never use it for any reason other than providing backup functionalities. We have the highest security standards in place to protect your data. Our service has been active since 2019 and we have never had any data breach or leak.
Data retention
marCloudBackup retains your data solely for the purpose of providing backup functionalities. After a backup is created, we hold the data only to support the operation of the service and will never use it for any other reason.
Backups do not link user generated content to individual Discord users - user linked data is anonymized during creation. The username, avatar link, and message contents are saved with the intent of providing the Message Backups feature.

Availability
marCloudBackup is provided as-is. There are no guarantees that it will be available in the future, and its purpose or availability may be changed at any time.
User related data including backups may be deleted at any time given a valid reason exists, e.g. violation of ToS.
Any premium features can not be guaranteed: they may change or be revoked at any time due to Discord changes. (e.g. Discord API or functionality changes)
Access to all or specific features of marCloudBackup Bot may be revoked, for all or a specific user, at any time.
However, we can promise that we will not take the service down any time soon, and if we ever were to (which is unlikely), you will be informed, and compensated (through a refund or other means). With a history since 2019, it's safe to say our service is here to stay and be relied on safely.
Refund Policy
We require a comprehensible explanation of the situation and never guarantee a refund. Partial refunds might be issued for payments under special circumstances.
Refunds are never issued if you have broken our Terms of Service, and therefore lost access to certain or all features.
Other reasons for a refund:
- Purchase was within one month of service shutdown.
